Oh yeah on Saturday Elder Christofferson came and spoke to us, it was in Sugarland, TX. It was kind of pretty far drive but it was good. Elder nielson also talked at the conference. they talked about companionships. Elder Christofferson opened it up to questions. One Elder asked him how did you totally forget yourself in your mission? a few seconds went by and repeated the question back to the elder and the elder say yeah. Elder christofferson said I didn't. He told us how to forget ourselves in the work. just from this don't ask a personal quetion to an apostle. another elder from our mission asked him you know our purpose our purpose is to invite others to come unto christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, recieving the gift of the holyghost and enduring to the end. can you expound more upon COME UNTO CHRIST. he called on our mission president to answer it and then some other people that were on the stand. it was a good conference. on the way back we rode with some other elders in a truck. the low tire pressure came on, so we pulled into a gas station by the air pump. we saw a big medal thing that was stuck into the tire. one elder said it is a knife that someone stabbed into and another elder said no it cannot be a knife it is a piece of medal. we got pliers pulled it out and it was a knife that was broken that the blade was stuck right into it. It took awhile to get the tire off and the spare on. than we went to to a tire shop top get a new tire. then we went to brother Carrell the chiropractor fixed and adjusted everyones backs and necks. he is a really nice great person.
Investigators
Neat kettler she is from Thailand and she is a very sweet nice person that can cook some good food. she is very small person. she has been asking us a lot of questions and has been coming to church with her rest of her family. we are waiting for a thai book of mormon so she can start reading the book of mormon. She loves us to come over and she loves to cook for us.
Mulkeys we met them these past two days. They have been going through a rough time. It was good that we met with them and to talk to them. They are studying the Book of Mormon and loves to learn. They know that this is the right church and only church, they have been to church once. we have been trying to get them to come church more often but there work schedule is crazy. He gave us this pretty qoute from a movie. that I will make a copy of it and send it to you all.
we are working with brother Carrells father in law and have been teaching him. He has almost has been taught everything. he has been coming to church for awhile. He is getting really close of being baptized. he is a really great guy and LOVES LOVES FOOTBALL. He is pretty fun to talk to. we are working with some other people but these are our most promising investigators that are close of being baptized.
Baptists Myths
Oh yeah when we had levi and lucas ketller, Neats two sons interview there dad was there and signed filled out the baptism record right and while we were doing that there neightbour who are baptist and hates mormons told neat kettler that they have you sign papers and have to give your house to them and everything like that. when brother kettler came back Neat said to him did you sign any papers about giving our house away to them, he said no I only signed papers that said they can be baptized and there member papers. there is a lot of crazy things that they come up with that are totally nopt true. This one member told of his conversion story that he was trying to find a church to go to. alot of church have signs and have sayings on them. he came a across a baptist church and it said do not read the book of mormon it will get you brainwashed. something like that. so he was curious and he read it and he is a member. it is so funny to think that other churches our helping us out.
